Caldwell’s Stable Table Deluxe is a purpose built, portable shooting bench with all the features required to set up for a day shooting with perfect stability.
The bench arrives boxed and takes about 10 minutes to assemble for the first time with basic tools. The construction is tough steel tubing with a durable coyote colour powder coat finish. The three legs slot into a tripod base of the centre column and lock in position with sprung detented pins before the bench’s actual weight solidifies the joint. One of the legs is adjustable with a turn screw to level the bench once assembled. The seat is supported on an additional steel bar which slots over the centre column and locks with a similar detented pin into any of 7 vertical positions to suit your height. This has a durable moulded polymer seat bolted in position and once assembled, can remain permanently attached. The moulded polymer top has a welded steel frame, and overall size is 864x584mm (34”x23”) with a rim to prevent items rolling away.
Overall weight is 27kg(60lbs) and when set up, will support heavy of shooters solidly. Both top and seat rotate into position with locking handles to confirm location and when you have finished shooting, the unit breaks down into 7 pieces for transport, the top, seat, centre post, tripod base and three legs, subsequent assembly or disassembly takes about a minute. Two black polymer forks are supplied that use the carry slots on the top to double up as a cleaning rest with the forend and buttstock slotted in position for a secure hold.
The seat adjusts from 406 to 559mm (16-22”) above the ground so most shooters will be comfortable. The tabletop stands at 870mm(34”) from the ground and each of the 900mm (35”) legs creates a 1800mm(70”) stable tripod layout. Each of the legs is 40mm (1.5”) box section and totally rigid. The centre column is a 60mm (2.4”) diameter with 2.5mm wall thickness. This is one very solid unit. When shooting, you don’t get any vibration on the components and the bench top itself doesn’t resonate. Each of the sprung locking pins is 13mm diameter and has a large ring pull on the end for fast extraction.
All the polymer areas are stippled for additional grip on this exceptionally stable shooting platform which fits all shooters and most guns with durable performance that can be easily vehicle transported for longer shooting sessions, either at the range for zeroing, plinking or if you have a sedentary shooting position from which to survey large areas over which to shoot in multiple directions, similarly to the prairie dog shooting setups a unit like this is inspired by.
