In 1893, the founder of Miroku, Kuraji Miroku, started producing hunting guns in Noichi-cho, Kami-gun, Kochi Prefecture. The company continued to develop as by 1934 they started manufacturing small and large whaling guns and by 1946 they established Miroku Co., Ltd. In Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture.
In 1951 the company obtained permission to manufacture hunting guns from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry following the ban on gun production in Japan. Therefore, they resumed with the production of hunting guns. It was in 1952 that we saw the production of horizontal double guns.
Miroku started producing double upper and lower guns in 1961, which was the same year that they changed their name to Miroku Manufacturing Co., Ltd. By 1966 they had made a sales and technology alliance with Browning.
The success of what Miroku achieved and continued to work on with new shotguns meant their alliance with Browning celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016.
